Hi, I’m Julie —photographer, dog-wrangler, and enthusiastic blur-chaser.

My journey into photography began not with a grand artistic vision, but with a bit of self-preservation. When my husband bought himself a camera and disappeared most weekends behind a tripod, I figured I’d better join in or risk never seeing him again. So, I bought my own camera… and had absolutely no idea what to do with it.

I started out photographing anything I could—mostly our Rhodesian Ridgeback, Hector, who had zero interest in staying still, and occasionally looked majestic if you caught him mid-sprint (which I didn’t, for quite a while). From there, I dabbled in everything: landscapes, macro, abstract, street—learning as I went, one wonky horizon at a time.

Then one day, on a whim, I signed up for a dance photography workshop. I had no interest in dance—truth be told, I only went because it fit my calendar and promised good lighting. But something unexpected happened: I fell completely in love with it. The motion, the blur, the fleeting shapes—it was like painting with a camera. Messy, emotional, instinctive. And finally, something clicked.

Now, I specialise in expressive, movement-based photography that captures the beauty of transformation in a single frame. My work is about presence, motion, and those in-between moments that vanish in a blink—but stay with you long after.

Thanks for visiting. Hector says hi.

(He’s still not cooperating.)

How We Create the Look…

Through a unique blend of long-exposure photography, instinctive technique, and painterly post-production, Julie captures not just the form of dancers, but the feeling of dance itself. Each image is a one-of-a-kind impression: part choreography, part chance, wholly alive.

Featuring a diverse range of dancers and styles—from the precision of ballet to the raw power of street movement—we transform the ephemeral into the eternal. It’s not about perfect stillness, but the echoes left behind when motion moves on.

Whether you’re a dance lover, an art enthusiast, or simply curious about how beauty can emerge from blur, we invite you to pause, feel, and see movement differently.
